The Day you Knew.....Armaggeddon was Here!
by OUTLAW ini`m a dubkid,i was raised in a crazy cult,the jehovah`s witness`s........death and destruction were constant topics of the day.........................you heard it every day,then you went to meetings and heard more of the same thing..........................one of my first children`s books was "paradise lost to paradise regained"..mom wanted me to have a nice big book,with lots of pictures of death and destruction!...............................i feared armageddon everyday............when i was about 7 or 8,i remember walking home from school..and....we had a huge thunder storm!..sheets of rain!..lightning bolts lite up the sky!..and..the thunder was deafining!................i was frigg`n scared!..armageddon was here!

I was told I have diabetes today
by noni1974 inmy doctor told me i have it.
i have to test my blood to see if it can be contorlled by diet or if i have to take meds for it.
for the next 2 weeks i have to test my blood 2 times a day.

On a lighter note, at the time when my Dad was diagnosed, his number on his licence plate on his car was PSD318GP. This is a totally random number and not personalised in any way.
Well, he was incredibly sorry for himself at hearing the news and he used to go on an on... if we had cake, he would always sulk about not having any and that sort of thing, so we decided that his registration number stood for Poor Sick Diabetic... silly story I know.

Hi Noni - my Dad, and both my maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother had diabetes - as everyone has already told you, if you keep things in check and under control, it wont be too difficult to live with!
Find out about associations in your area and most of all look after your feet. Regular sessions with a podiatrist to avoid issues later. This is huge in your life now but you will cope! (((noni)))

i've found this place a really good outlet and place to learn and share for quite a while.
the number of posts doesn't really matter... but the freedom to speak one's mind and to perhaps share ideas that might help others get past the jw experience .. that does matter!.

I feel more of a brotherhood or sisterhood on this www, than I ever did in a KH - we have a commonality that is deeper than sharing the same religious beliefs - we came out of a cult the right side up.
I hope that I do get to meet some of you one day, and when I do, I will welcome you as sisters and brothers.

Does it Bother You that It's An American Cult?

well how's this for the laws of attraction.... my husband has just been told that his company is laying off 600 of it's 3000 employees in a massive restructure.. they are offering voluntary separation packages, early retirements, and then of course there will be forced retrenchments.
we are thinking and hoping that he is safe for now, he is in middle management and well respected and liked.
